Privacy Policy
Last updated 6 October 2026
This policy explains how Team/Player Limited (New Zealand company number 9455987) collects, uses and protects personal information in the Team/Player apps and on this website. We are responsible for that information under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.
The short version: we collect what we need to run your team, we do not sell it, and we do not use it for advertising.
What we collect
- Account details — your name and email address.
- Team information — the teams and competitions you create, join or follow, your role in each, and the invites you send or accept.
- Children’s profiles — the name of any child a parent or guardian adds, the link between them, and the child’s email address if the guardian invites them to sign in themselves.
- Team activity — events, availability and attendance, venues, results, awards and votes, and charges recorded for members (what they are for, the amount, and when they are due or paid).
- Technical information — app performance, error, crash and hang reports (device type, operating system and app version), and server logs, which include IP addresses. Personal details are removed from app reports before they are stored.
We do not collect your location, contacts or photos, and we do not use advertising or third-party analytics. A venue is stored as part of a team’s information, not as anyone’s location. This website sets no cookies.
How we use it
- to provide the Service: sign you in, run your teams and show your information to the people you share it with;
- to keep the Service reliable and secure, and to fix problems;
- to respond when you contact us; and
- to meet our legal obligations.
Who can see it
Other members of your teams can see your name, your role and what you share with the team, such as your availability. Team administrators can see charges recorded for members. Parents and guardians can see and manage their children’s profiles.
We use these service providers to run the Service. They process information only on our behalf:
- Supabase — sign-in and account security;
- Resend — delivering sign-in codes by email;
- Fly.io — hosting and database;
- Cloudflare — network security and content delivery;
- Grafana Labs — service monitoring.
On iPhone and iPad, venue searches are sent to Apple Maps to find matching places. On any device, directions to a venue open in your maps app. Apple and your maps app handle that under their own privacy policies.
We do not sell personal information. We only disclose it to anyone else when the law requires us to, or when it is needed to prevent a serious threat to someone’s safety.
Where it is stored
Our database is hosted in Sydney, Australia. Some of our service providers process information in the United States and other countries. We choose providers that protect personal information in ways comparable to the Privacy Act 2020.
How we protect it
Information is encrypted in transit, access to it is limited to what is needed to run the Service, and sign-in uses one-time codes rather than passwords.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while you have an account. You can delete your account from within the app at any time, or ask us to delete it without the app. When you do, we delete your account, your team activity, favourites and charges, and remove your name from anything that stays with a team, such as an event you created. Server logs are kept for a limited period and then deleted.
Children
Children under 16 cannot create their own account. A parent or guardian can add and manage a child’s profile, and can ask us to correct or delete it at any time.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it. Email support@team-player.io and we will respond within 20 working days. To delete your account, see Delete Your Account.
If you are not happy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first. You can also complain to the New Zealand Office of the Privacy Commissioner.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. We will change the date at the top of this page, and tell you in the app about significant changes.
